I'm playing along today, today I'm grateful I work for myself. I shut the shop for an hour this afternoon and the sign on the door said this..... back @ 3pm, gone to see Mr. Magoo sing. And sing he did, along with the rest of his Stage at school they belted out 4 Aussie tunes and he smiled and smile when he found me in the audience. That's what it is all about. And then Miss Muffet got a merit award, beautiful surprise, she was chuffed as was I.
Someone said to me not long ago, Oh your shop is not your career, you know what, it is, it is my career, I love it, it is my happy place, it is mine, it is me, it is my career and it is what I create. It will not take precedence over my children if they have something I want to attend at school. In the words of Dr.Seuss 'Life is a great balancing act', and holy crap it sure is. We all balance different things everyday, and my balance is no better or worse than yours....sometimes lots and lots of times, lots and lots of people say 'You're never open' - well I am. The hours are on the door and when I'm not at Coco's Closet I am either at home- working - colouring and sewing, or I'm at school, soaking up my kids experiences.... that I will not change.
So today I am so very grateful I work for myself and I can make that choice to close for 1 hour, my happy place will wait for me to get back..... I hope you do too. xxx
