Flat Ned in Production

I took a break from the lounge yesterday to hit the sewing machine to whip up some Flat Neds, he's been around since 2001 and I still love him to bits. He's made from recycled denim has a handstitched face then stitched up and he just tends to get flatter as the years go by. Both Routke and Mackenzie love him, in fact Rourke's Flat Ned is the original.I think I've given Flat Ned as a baby gift nearly 100 times or nearly anyway. He is the perfect bear to travel with cause he just fits perfectly flat in the carry-on luggage. He gets softer with age and cause he doesn't have any bits so he's great for babes.
He even made an appearance on mornings with Kerri-Anne. Wot a star!!!

Sketching the day away......

After visiting the ultrasound department today and continuing to have to stay at home on the lounge, foot elevated to keep me from going insane I have been sketching, texting, colouring and texting. My sketches and colourings will most probably turn into gift bags- my new little favourite thing to produce together with a matching rambling somewhat child like tale of happy times, shopping, coffee or friends.
Have to return to the Doc tomorrow to see what the kankle verdict is, on the flip side I can still drive so for that I am glad. There's the glad game working it's magic again.....

Gotta do something....

I'm hauled up on the lounge, foot elevated, swollen and sore. I think my body is telling me maybe I'm too old for netball?!? Who knows. So in an attempt to be still for most of the day I just finished 100 inspiring bracelets and designed 2 new gift bags. The first one is " the glad bag" just like in Pollyanna, the glad bag says... the glad game.that is her mission today. GLAD, such a small word. She is glad, the sun is out, she is glad her coffee is hot. She is glad her children are smiling, in fact they make her giggle; sometimes they can be so funny. she is glad she can stay up late but still get up early. she is glad her veggies grow and her hands don't get too dirty. She's glad for so many things and so many more. She's glad. She really has a great life. Sometimes when we feel like our world is so full of negative vibes and life is a bit harder than usual I like to play the glad game, and I get my kids to play too and before you know it their wisdom shines and I realize how wonderful it is to live and love and dance and smile. The second gift bag is a bit simpler but we love it in our house. I love you all the way to the moon and back... What more do you need!
